These Learning Target “Guides” are for students to use as they prepare for quizzes and exams in AP® Environmental Science. I use the guides with mastery grading which is similar to standards-based or equity grading. Read more about mastery grading in this post.

My students use the detailed and comprehensive learning target guides to prepare for content quizzes. I combined topics on the guide to show which topics are on a quiz. This guide is optional for students and I do not collect. If students would a retake of a quiz or exam, then a completed guide by hand is required. This is part of mastery grading.
Because I do not collect and its not part of the grade, I have not created answer keys. If students read the book and watch the lecture videos, they do not need to check their answers.
The guides are comprehensive and is ready to go with some small changes by you:
- Insert page numbers for whichever book you use. The ones listed are for Environmental Science for the AP Course 4th ed by Friedland and Reylea (published by BFW).
- Add online video links for notes. The link for AP
®Daily Videos are on the guide (students need a sign-in to AP Classroom), but you can also add direct links to other video series. My lecture videos are on my Youtube Channel. - Combine different topics into the quizzes you wish to give. My students appreciate how this guide is formatted so they know what learning targets will be on a quiz.
You can create content quizzes based on the learning targets using your textbook’s question bank or from my content quiz bundle.
